SAP Oil and Gas for Secondary Distribution

Steven L. Zirilli, Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer,
Maxum Petroleum, Inc.
Mike Serratore, Vice President US, Implico Group

Expert
To optimize and automate our current Order-to-Cash and procurement processes, Maxum Petroleum implemented SAP’s Oil and Gas for Secondary Distribution (OGSD) to specifically address  customer order management  (SLC), Continuous Product Replenishment (CPR) and integrated trip/delivery reconciliation (Data Collation).

Maxum Petroleum enhanced the OGSD “Sales Logistics Cockpit” (SLC) to support the customer service representatives (CSRs).  All relevant Order-to-Cash processes, from customer creation to billing, are accessible from this cockpit. Best Buy/Multi-Reference was also implemented to achieve automated loading determination.

Join this session and learn how the company used OGSD for automated order generation utilizing OGSD’s Continuous Product Replenishment (CPR) for fixed cycles or forecasted deliveries based on tank levels and consumption. All truck trips are verified, posted and reconciled in SAP using OGSD’s Data Collation. Data Collation also supports the custom delivery document verification process and specific customer billing requirements.

Lessons:
• Ensure key SMEs from the business and integration partner with both industry and
  solution experience are part of project organization
• Include business input, specifically top management, during blueprint workshops;
  quick decision making during blueprint accelerates the project
• Existing change management experience (acquisitions) has been successfully
  adapted for the SAP roll-outs
